Registry Easy While not thought of as the most popular registry repair software on the market, it is very functional (actually possibly offers the most bonus features of any program we’ve reviewed) and we’ve rated it as the top registry cleaner available..

To start off with when I was doing this Registry easy review, I was sort of bored with reviewing registry repair tools. The two I had used before this were more or less the exact same with a different name on it, how ever when I first landed on the Registry Easy website, I felt something was different.

It wasn’t long into my registry easy review that I found their features list (which is quite long) and I recognized that this isn’t just a registry repair tool, but it handles a lot of other system management issues as well.

The scan

While performing this Registry Easy review I ran a test scan on my machines registry. The time to complete the registry scan was normal. They have a very big list of items that Registry easy is searching for, but it didn’t seem to cause any lag in scan time.

After the scan was complete there was a list of errors and items found that the software suggested be deleted or repaired. A nice feature was that I could choose which items were changed. So I could simply go through the list and check off which items I wanted to be left alone. This is an important feature to ensure nothing that shouldn’t be deleted or modified is left alone.

Of course there is an auto repair option in this top registry cleaner as well. This will cause the program to just repair all items it finds during it’s scan. Most times you’re safe to allow Registry easy to repair the items for you, but for those that like the added control it’s nice to scroll through the list to see what was found.

Safety features of Registry Easy

I love the backup utility, if you’ve read any of my other registry repair reviews you know I preach the ability to backup, undo, and restore old settings if need be. I’ve been caught one to many times making Changes to something I shouldn’t have and left my PC in worse shape then it was before.

Registry Easy, as other programs do, has a backup registry feature, plus a restore point option. This is a little more in depth then most registry cleaners provides. Restore points aren’t just a backup, but a complete system snap shot in time of all the settings on your PC. This is probably the best backup utility I’ve seen in any registry repair software.

Registry Easy Bonus Features

Couple of things I thought were nice extra bonuses are:

• Internet Explorer restore
• Memory Tweak

These are all bonus features of Registry easy that help enhance your PC’s performance and manage your file structure. This was a big plus for me while doing the Registry Easy review, I didn’t get to test all those features, but having them there for the same cost as every other registry cleaner was worth it.

All in all I think this is the nicest registry repair software I’ve looked at. I like the look of the interface, I like the add ons, and I really like the backup and security features. For the money and features this is probably going to be my top pick for PC registry cleaners. They offer the free scan utility, and full refund if you’re not happy with the programs performance.

I recommend you download the free scan utility, and run it on your PC. This will get your feet wet with the Registry Easy interface, and let you know if you have any registry errors that are slowing things down.

RegTool is one of those products that not only claims to help with the standard registry cleanup but it comes bundled with a number of other tools that can help to enhance your computing experience. Is it a tool that lives up to those expectations?

What it Claims to Do:

RegTool makes the usual claims of speeding up your computer and removing many of the errors that are associated with registry problems. It does this by fixing a number of invalid settings and paths in the registry itself. Basically, if it doesn't fit, it is fixed and if it doesn't belong, it is removed.

Aside from those things, it has a number of other tools that can help you to keep your computer running smoothly. It optimizes the internet, has a supplementary defrag and cleans your history, clean as a whistle.

What it Actually Does:

Can RegTool live up to its promises? Yes, and it does a great job of doing so. Our test computer was clean and running smoothly after this program walked us through the process. In fact, it was really a rather pleasant experience and one that would be easy for anyone to follow.

Another thing that we found is that many of the tools that were bundled with the program were not only easy to use, they were beneficial to speeding up our computer as well.

Conclusion

RegTool gets our seal of approval, both for it's easy to use interface and for it's ability to get the job done right. If you are having problems of computer slowdown or windows crashing, this program can help you to automatically fix them with ease.

The tools that are included in the program are also a welcome addition and are worth the money, even if they did not come bundled with a top notch registry cleaner. This one is worth the download and you will find that your computer is running better as a result.

Error Fix works to fine-tune your system performance by checking for Registry errors, but the word "fix" is a misnomer in this strict trial version.

The application's straightforward interface uses large buttons for scanning, backup restoration, altering program options, and managing start-up programs. During testing, the program thoroughly scanned our computer and found a wide variety of errors such as the problematic Active X controls, invalid references to past uninstalled programs, and broken shortcuts. Errors found are organized according to the error type, but the program excludes any detailed information about the severity of each error.

The removal of errors from the Registry is off-limits until you purchase the program. Novices will find it easy to set up the Registry cleanup schedule, which allows you to clean your Registry at your convenience. The only noticeable extra feature is the Startup Manager, which performed well during testing.

Overall, Error Fix does a good job of identifying Registry errors.

Registry Fix is a robust and thorough registry scanner. It features standard, deep and custom scan options, including ignore lists. Registry fix was able to find and repair a large number of registry problems on our test system, behind only Registry Mechanic and Max Secure Registry Cleaner.

This program also features a number of helpful "Managers" to make securing and cleaning your system much easier: The Full Registry Backup Manager is a quick way to ensure that you always have a working version of the registry available. Another useful manager is the System Startup Manager, which allows to browse and remove programs that have been set to start up when Windows boots. The Add/Remove Programs Manager allows you to browse the programs installed on your system and to delete any entries or data that may have been left behind.

Registry Fix can also be configured to run at Windows Startup to ensure that the system is checked regularly for errors. Scheduled scans are not available, however, so users that run their PCs continuously will need to remember to run the scan manually.

Auto-updates are also not available, so future versions of Registry Fix must be downloaded manually.

Registry Fix offers email support as well as a help file within the application. There is no online FAQ or knowledge base available for Registry Fix at this time.
